This is me

'I am very much a cook not a chef, taste and flavour is everything. Good Tasty food with local ingredients.'

I qualified as a Corden Bleu in New Zealand over 25 years ago, and have been cooking professionally ever since. I've done just about everything from small, private dinner parties, large boardroom lunches & dinners, to events of all types and weddings up to 350 people.

Now at Breedon Hall I attend to our house guests and the events we occasionally do here. At the same time I continue, with my team, to do external catering as well as raising my two son's Felix and Hector.

What sort of food do I do? I am an instinctive cook who focuses on flavour and freshness without getting over complicated. My customers seem to like it and I've never had to advertise - word of mouth being sufficient. I often do a 'tasting menu' for prospective clients so that they can choose or test me out prior to their occasion, and this works very well. Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange one.

Home at Breedon Hall

Breedon Hall is an award-winning Country house style B&B with 5 immaculately presented en-suite bedrooms.

While it's not a big venue, it's perfect for hosting bridal 'launches' and private events. What it lacks in space, it more than makes up for in atmosphere and a charmingly intimate feel.

We also have Meynell Mews - our charming self-catering cottages situated amongst two acres of private grounds with secure off-street parking, perfect for extra guests.

'Proprietor Charlotte will likely invite you to take a load off in the charmingly cluttered living room, bring you tea and biscuits, and make you feel so at home you find yourself donning slippers and putting your feet up on the sofa.

The morning after, breakfast is everything I could dream of to finish a weekend of indulgence: first-rate home-made granola and yoghurt, strong coffee, and the best smashed avo and poached eggs on toast I’ve possibly ever eaten (honestly). The cherry on top comes when I ask Charlotte for running route recommendations, and she details the perfect countryside trail to work off my three-course brekkie.'
